Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan is a native of and brought up from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam was a back-up singer with Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, her father was appointed as curator for the Strawberry Mansion Section. Her family moved later into this historical structure. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduated who is majoring in the field of vocal music. Sullivan started singing in children's chorus in the contralto position, and then she joined the adult choir a few years after that. Sullivan was not exposed secular music at first. "I was singing for the first time solo in churches, and one of my friends asked me to commit for a gospel recording when I was eleven. but I wasn't quite ready for that," she says. At that time, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I was allowed to sing "Accept the Grace of God" at The show Showtime at the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part at the birthday of her son at the age of 13. Sullivan was 15 when she first got signed by Jive Records. In the age group of 15, she was signed to Jive Records. She made an entire album in Jive Records but it didn't get released. Sullivan was later dropped on the labels. There was a close relationship with Missy Elliott, who produced some of the songs from her debut, which included the hit single "Backstabbers" which was produced by Timbaland and composed by Elliott.
